Who Are the Top Real Estate Agents Serving the Hamptons?

Choosing a real estate agent in the Hamptons is different from choosing one in almost any other market. Southampton, Water Mill, Bridgehampton, Sagaponack, Sag Harbor and East Hampton may sit only miles apart, but pricing, buyer profiles, zoning, waterfront considerations and even what constitutes a compelling property can change dramatically from one neighborhood to the next.

There are several exceptional brokers serving the East End. The more important question is not simply “Who is the top Hamptons agent?” but “Who is best positioned to represent my specific property, price point and objectives?”

The Leading Hamptons Real Estate Agents

The following professionals have established meaningful records in the luxury market.

Current rankings reinforce why no single metric tells the complete story. Cody Vichinsky led The Real Deal's latest Hamptons ranking by sales volume, while Tim Davis produced the highest average transaction size at approximately $15.8 million. Susan Breitenbach reports more than $6.4 billion in career transactions, while Dana Trotter's 2025 RealTrends-verified production totaled approximately $214.1 million.

When interviewing an agent, ask for the five transactions most comparable to your property—not simply lifetime sales volume. Relevant experience usually matters more than the biggest number on a biography.

Who Is Lisa Maysonet?

Lisa Maysonet has built her career around a slightly different proposition: understanding luxury real estate across both New York City and the Hamptons, while connecting those markets to an international client base through Sotheby's International Realty.

StreetEasy currently identifies her as a Licensed Associate Real Estate Broker with Sotheby's International Realty and records 296 past sales and 65 past rentals, while describing approximately $1.5 billion in property value negotiated throughout my career. Her work spans Manhattan as well as Southampton, Bridgehampton, Water Mill, Sag Harbor, East Quogue and surrounding Hamptons communities.

That cross-market perspective matters because a significant portion of Hamptons demand originates with buyers whose primary residences, businesses and professional networks remain in Manhattan.

Where Lisa's Approach Is Different

AdvantageWhy It Matters
Manhattan + Hamptons expertiseHelps identify and reach buyers moving between both markets
Broker, owner and investor perspectiveEvaluates a property beyond aesthetics alone
Global luxury exposureExpands the qualified buyer universe
Development and marketing backgroundValuable when positioning unusual or highly customized properties
Sotheby's platformAdds international distribution and luxury-brand credibility

The tradeoff buyers and sellers should understand is important: if your sole selection criterion is one-year Hamptons transaction volume, other brokers may rank higher. If you value a broader advisory relationship encompassing Manhattan, the Hamptons and international luxury buyers, that is where her positioning becomes particularly compelling.

For sellers, ask every prospective agent one question: “Who specifically do you believe will buy my house?” A sophisticated answer should describe the buyer profile, geographic source, likely motivation and acquisition psychology—not simply promise more advertising.

What Is Sotheby's International Realty?

Sotheby's International Realty is a global luxury real estate network founded in 1976 and built around representing distinctive residential properties and affluent clientele. Its association with the Sotheby's name and auction-house heritage creates a powerful connection to luxury consumers, collectors and global wealth.

Its scale is substantial.

Sotheby's International Realty — 2025 PerformanceResult
Global sales volume$182.4B
Year-over-year global growthNearly 16%
Offices1,100+
Countries and territories86
Sales associatesNearly 26,000
Global referral volumeNearly $7B

The company reported that U.S. sales volume increased 9.3% in 2025, compared with 2.6% growth for the broader market cited in its announcement. Sotheby's International Realty also placed 42 agents among the top 250 individuals by sales volume in the 2025 RealTrends Verified + The Thousand rankings.

For a Hamptons seller, the important issue is not simply having a famous logo on the sign. The benefit is the potential to expose a property to qualified buyers and referring advisors in New York, Palm Beach, Miami, California, London, Europe, the Middle East and other wealth markets.

For properties above roughly $5 million—and especially unique waterfront, architectural or estate properties—ask how the agent will market outside Long Island. At that level, the eventual purchaser may not currently be searching the Hamptons at all.

Which Hamptons Brokerage Is No. 1?

Even this answer changes depending on the measurement period.

Compass ranked No. 1 by Hamptons sales volume for June 2024 through June 2025, with nearly $2.2 billion in transactions across 585 deals. One year earlier, Douglas Elliman held the No. 1 position, recording nearly $1.5 billion across more than 430 transactions.

Corcoran, Compass, Douglas Elliman, Saunders & Associates, Bespoke, The Agency and Sotheby's International Realty all maintain meaningful East End businesses.

That is why brokerage rankings alone should never determine who represents your property.

Large Platform vs. Individual Advisor

ModelUpsideWatch Carefully
Market-share leaderLarge agent network and transaction flowYour listing can compete with many internal listings
Mega-agent/teamHuge database and visibilityDetermine who actually handles your transaction
Boutique luxury specialistFocused high-end positioningSmaller overall network
Global luxury advisorCross-market and international reachConfirm strong local execution
Hyperlocal specialistDeep neighborhood knowledgeMay have less reach outside the East End

Interview the agent, not merely the brokerage. The person determining pricing, negotiating the transaction and communicating with buyers will usually have more impact on your outcome than the company name alone.

So, Who Is the Best Hamptons Real Estate Agent?

There is no credible universal answer.

If you own a $40 million oceanfront compound, the ideal agent may be different from the right advisor for a $4 million Southampton residence. A Sag Harbor waterfront property requires different buyer knowledge than new construction in Bridgehampton or an estate in Water Mill.

My recommendation is to evaluate four things:

  1. Comparable transaction experience
  2. Pricing and negotiation discipline
  3. Access to the actual buyer population
  4. The ability to market beyond the Hamptons

For clients whose lives and assets intersect Manhattan, the Hamptons and the global luxury market, my work with Sotheby's International Realty offers a particularly powerful combination: local market knowledge, sophisticated property positioning and access to one of the world's largest luxury real estate networks.

The best agent should not simply put your property on the market.

The best agent should know how to create a market around your property.

Before signing a listing agreement, ask each finalist to present a 90-day positioning strategy—including pricing, private-network outreach, digital distribution, buyer targeting, broker engagement and what they will change if the market does not respond. The differences between agents become very clear once you ask for the actual strategy.
